DE-MILITARIZATION OF POLICE-NOT

Kevlar HelmetFRESH IN OUR MEMORIES IS THE HORRIBLE, ATTACK ON U.S. CITIZENS ENJOYING A LATE EVENING AT CLUB PULSE IN ORLANDO.  AN ISLAMIC TERRORIST WALKS IN AND PROCEED TO KILL A NUMBER OF REVELERS.

ORLANDO POLICE RESPOND AND ENGAGE THE SHOOTER IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET A FIX ON HIS LOCATION AND INSURE THE SAFETY OF OTHER HOSTAGES.  THE SURVIVORS OF THE INITIAL ONSLAUGHT REMAINED HUDDLED IN THE BATHROOMS.  SEVERAL OF THE HOSTAGES WERE ABLE TO CONTACT THE ORLANDO POLICE AND KEEP NEGOTIATORS AND OTHERS ADVISED OF THE SITUATION.

UPON DETERMINING THAT ADDITIONAL CONVERSATION WOULD NOT YIELD A PEACEFUL RESOLUTION, THE ORLANDO SWAT TEAMS BROKE DOWN A WALL WHERE THE HOSTAGES WERE LOCATED.  HOW YOU ASK?  GOOD QUESTION.  THEY USED A BEAR CAT TACTICAL VEHICLE TO BREAK INTO THE BUILDING.  AS THE HOSTAGES POURED OUT THEY COULDN’T THANK THE COPS ENOUGH.  THIS ACTION SAVED A NUMBER OF LIVES.

THE ISLAMIC TERRORIST CAME OUT OF HIS RAT HOLE AND ENGAGED THE ORLANDO OFFICERS IN A RAGING GUN BATTLE.   ONE OFFICER, WEARING A KEVLAR HELMET, RECEIVED A SHOT TO HIS HEAD.  THE MILITARY STYLE HELMET SAVED THE OFFICER FROM CERTAIN DEATH.

YOU MAY RECALL ALL THE POLITICAL PUNDITS AND KNEE-JERKS DEMANDING THAT THE POLICE DE-MILITARIZE.  WHY?  BECAUSE THE TACTICAL GEAR WORN DURING RIOTS SCARED THE RIOTERS.  TOO BAD JACK.  THE MILITARY STUFF MUST STAY IN A POLICE DEPARTMENTS INVENTORY FOR USE AS NEEDED.  GOD HELP US….PLEASE.

STAY SAFE, WEAR YOUR VEST AND BUCKLE UP!!
